The USB Y-cable for the Asus Zendrive U7M is used to provide additional power to the external DVD writer when connected to a device that does not supply enough power through a single USB port. The Y-cable splits into two USB connectors, allowing you to connect both to the device for extra power. This ensures that the Asus Zendrive U7M receives enough power to operate properly, especially when connected to older devices or laptops with limited power output. **
